– Things you need to do in Karachi

So I had a short trip to Karachi a few days ago, and this is what I’d suggest to anyone traveling there.

SPA

I absolutely love pampering myself and taking time for a slow, relaxing self care day, whether it’s a soothing massage, a fresh manicure and pedicure, or a good blow dry. I recently had an amazing scalp and shoulder massage at SOHO Salon in Karachi that lasted about 15 to 20 minutes, and they really knew the right pressure points, finishing with hot stones and a warm towel, which was so relaxing I nearly fell asleep. My mani pedi was just as good, with a great range of nail colors and properly sterilized tools opened in front of me. The blow dry was average since the curls didn’t last long, possibly due to Karachi’s humidity, and overall salon services here are noticeably more expensive than in Lahore.

CHAAYE CULTURE

When I say Karachi has the best chaaye spots, I truly mean it. I love my tea and I know exactly how it should taste, and Chaye Wala in Bukhari is hands down the best I’ve ever had. Just get it in a disposable cup for the perfect experience. I used to get Doodhpati but in karak form with Cardamom. So it was a blend of three different chaaye they were serving.

Cafes and restaurants which aren’t in Lahore or your city.

You should definitely try cafes which aren’t available in the city or place you live. I absolutely love espresso, but they shut their branches off in Lahore. So when I went to karachi I went there thrice. Their spicy chicken panini sandwich, mushroom soup and the brick oven pizza was an absolute delight.

96NM for those frappes and coffee cravings. They had opened a pop up in Lahore a couple of months ago and they literally know how to make the perfect balance and blend of a frappe and a coffee. Their Signature (cold) NM special frappe and matcha is definitely what I’d recommend.

Cafe Flo was too bland and tasteless for me. Probably won’t be going there again. However Chef’s table was really good. We took an 11 course meal and we chose the items we’d want to be individually served to us. The desserts I didn’t like, it was too desi for my taste “Paan Gelato”. I liked their Rice Pudding though. From the main I’d recommend the smashed beef in paratha. Amazing. The same paratha smash which got hyped in Dubai. Oh and I liked their Matka Biryani as well.

Seafood from Oyster Bay.

You need to try the seafood boil at Oyster Bay because it’s an experience in itself. It takes some effort as you crack open the crab carefully, trying not to hurt yourself in the process, and while they only had local crabs, I feel king crab would have been better since it’s meatier and easier to handle. The Cajun sauce wasn’t as spicy as I expected, especially compared to Boiling Crab where you can choose different spice levels, so my expectations were a bit high, but it was still enjoyable. The shrimps were similar but in a milder sauce, and overall it’s a fun, messy experience best enjoyed with friends or family where you go full desi and eat with your hands, and they even provide bibs and gloves to make it easier.

Good Luck ❤️

No Guarantees, Only Moments

Life?

Life is a series of unpredictable events. Nothing and no one is ever certain. Even your own existence might not be there for the things you have planned. The people around you, your friends, they are with you only if they truly value you not for what they can gain. True bonds are unconditional. You should be able to trust someone completely, eyes closed, without hesitation.

We spend so much time planning unaware of what might happen along the way. That is why it is important to live life on your own terms. You only live once. Make sure that when you leave this world you can be at peace knowing you never settled for the bare minimum just because society expected it. Most of us realize this after our mid-twenties and then life becomes a journey of self-exploration.

Make the most of the time you have before it is too late and you are left with regrets. Every moment should be cherished. The only thing we can control is the present and how we face it not the past or the future. Overthinking destroys our present. I do it myself and it brings anxiety. Sometimes all I can do is reach out to those close to me and let them help calm my mind.

Life is unpredictable but it is beautiful. The key is to live it fully, love deeply, and hold onto what truly matters.

Living Well Matters More Than Living Long

What are your thoughts on the concept of living a very long life?

There is a lot of emphasis on living a very long life, but for me, longevity alone has never felt like the goal. What truly matters is the quality of life we live—being healthy, self-reliant, and mentally present.

As we age, health naturally begins to decline. After 50, many people face issues like heart disease, cholesterol problems, diabetes, weaker bones, and reduced physical strength. The idea of living very long while being completely dependent on others is frightening. Watching extremely old people struggle without independence is deeply heartbreaking.

That’s why I believe in prioritizing living well over simply living longer. Being able to take care of yourself, make your own decisions, and live with dignity matters far more than adding extra years to life.

I also believe it’s important to never compromise on what you want and don’t want in your life. You choose your values, your priorities, the people you allow close to you, and the life you build. Those choices shape the quality of your life more than anything else.

Having the right life partner—someone you can rely on and take responsibility for in return—becomes essential as life progresses. And just as important is ensuring your children’s lives are well settled. No one will ever love, protect, or prioritize them the way a truly loving parent does.

In the end, a meaningful life isn’t measured by how long we live, but by how consciously we choose to live—healthy, independent, and at peace with our choices.

The Art of Walking Lightly, Living Wisely

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

Some of the most profound lessons I’ve carried in life weren’t from books or lectures—they were from conversations with my father. His words were simple, but they’ve stayed with me, guiding me through moments of confusion, growth, and change.

Do good and forget about it.

Goodness is not a transaction—it’s a reflection of who you are. When you do something kind, don’t wait for recognition or repayment. Life has its own way of returning what you give, sometimes in ways you’d never expect. The same applies to ill intentions: those who plot harm often find themselves ensnared by their own traps. Life is circular; what goes around always comes around.

Arrogance is for the foolish.

Every day is an opportunity to learn. Mistakes, missteps, and even heartbreaks are teachers if you’re willing to listen. To walk through life thinking you know it all is to close yourself off from growth. True strength lies in humility and the ability to adapt with each new lesson.

Be wise with your resources.

Money comes and goes, but discipline in spending shapes your freedom. Confidence, however, is a different kind of wealth. When you walk into a room, know that no one else can be you. That quiet certainty is far more valuable than arrogance—it’s self-respect without the need for comparison.

Guard your circle.

Loneliness is better than being surrounded by serpents. Not everyone who smiles at you wishes you well. A friend to all is often a friend to none. The ones who truly matter are selective with their trust and protective of their space. Sometimes, solitude is not isolation—it’s preservation.

In all these lessons lies a single thread: life is both a teacher and a mirror. What you give, you receive. What you learn, you become. And what you protect, protects you in return.

“To know yourself is a lifetime’s work; to pretend you know others is arrogance.”

Places, People, Moments: The Beauty of Impermanence

“ But if you knew, you might not be able to see it again tomorrow, everything would suddenly become special and precious, wouldn’t it?”

— Kafka on the Shore, Haruki Murakami

We move through life assuming continuity—believing the places we love will stay, the people we cherish will remain, and the moments we live will repeat themselves. But what if they don’t?

This quote from Kafka on the Shore is a quiet reminder of impermanence. It urges us to see the beauty in the ordinary, to treat today not as another page in a never-ending book, but as a fragile, irreplaceable chapter.

That hallway in your childhood home where the light always falls a certain way. The friend you always assume you’ll see next weekend. The elder who would guide you with their wisdom won’t be sitting at the table again as they did. The lazy Sunday morning filled with silence and coffee. They might not be there tomorrow. Not in the same way.

We often chase big dreams and future plans, but perhaps the real magic lies in the small things we take for granted. Noticing them. Being present for them. Valuing them—not because they are rare, but because they are fleeting.

So next time you’re with someone you love, or in a moment that feels simple and still, pause. Soak it in. Because knowing it might not come again doesn’t make it sad—it makes it sacred.

On the Days That Feel Heavy

“If today feels heavy, carry it lightly. If it feels empty, fill it with the smallest comforts. A warm drink. An uplifting song. Soft clothes. A deep breath. You don’t have to fix today. You just have to move through it.”

-Vex King

Some days feel heavier than others—days when the world presses in a little tighter, when motivation is hard to find, or when everything just feels… off. In those moments, it’s easy to think we need to fix everything right away: our mood, our circumstances, ourselves. But maybe the gentler path is simply to carry the day lightly. This quotation reminds us that we don’t have to force solutions or breakthroughs; we just need to find our footing and keep going. A warm drink, a soft hoodie, a peaceful nap, a favorite song—these tiny acts of comfort can anchor us more than we realize.

Life isn’t always about monumental change or productivity. Sometimes it’s about being tender with ourselves when the weight gets too much. When the day feels empty, we can fill it with small, nourishing moments that ask nothing of us but presence. You don’t need to solve every problem today. You just need to move through it—breath by breath, step by step, with kindness in your hands and softness in your heart. That alone is enough. That alone is brave.

Even butterflies seek shelter when it rains—to protect their delicate wings from being torn by the storm. They don’t fight the weather; they rest and wait. In the same way, it’s okay to pause and protect your own softness. The rain doesn’t last forever—and there’s always a rainbow waiting on the other side.

What’s meant for you will find its way. What isn’t will quietly fall away. Trust the process, and keep moving.

– You Only Life Once –

Ten years from now, make sure you can say that you chose your life — you didn’t settle for it. But remember… ten years isn’t guaranteed. Tomorrow isn’t promised. Life is short, and passing quickly.

So do what your heart wants. Follow it — fully, unapologetically. Say no to anything that doesn’t align with who you are or your life. No one else needs to understand it. It just needs to be real to you. You’re not here to merely exist — you’re here to live. And if you’re lucky enough to be here in ten years, make sure it’s a life that feels like your own.

There’s no such thing as perfect — not in people, not in choices, not in paths. Everyone has flaws, cracks, and contradictions. The beauty lies in deciding which imperfections you’re willing to live with — in yourself and in others. That’s what being human is. You won’t be perfect either, but to someone out there, you might just be the best thing they’ve ever known. So never talk down to yourself. Move like the world does revolve around you — and then choose your people accordingly. Choose the ones who get it. Who support you. Who see you.

And even on your fragile days — don’t let negativity in. The world/people can be cruel, but their bitterness isn’t yours to carry. Protect your peace, guard your worth, and never let someone else’s darkness dim your light.

This one’s for everyone born in the ’90s — before tech took over. We’ve officially hit the serious age. To those still choosing their path — keep going. And to those who followed the script and settled for what the world chose for you — may you find peace, purpose, and pieces of yourself along the way. ✨💛🥂

Cherish the time and people in your life—once they’re gone, you can’t get them back.

Chasing Perfection: Is the Ideal Life Just a Myth?

In many South Asian communities, life often follows a traditional script. Expectations are clear, and deviation is discouraged. For women in particular, there’s an unspoken standard—live quietly, fulfill your roles, and don’t ask for too much. Over time, this has created a culture where many live on autopilot, checking boxes but rarely feeling fulfilled.

But what happens when someone dares to want more?

The idea of an “ideal life” is often dismissed as unrealistic. Society tells us perfection doesn’t exist, and chasing it will only lead to disappointment. Yet, for some, it’s not about perfection—it’s about living with purpose. It’s about waking up with hope rather than dread. It’s about refusing to accept a bare minimum existence as the default.

High standards are often misunderstood. They aren’t rooted in arrogance but in self-awareness. When someone has experienced being deeply valued—whether through family, friends, education, or personal insight—they develop a different emotional baseline. They begin to expect more than survival—they seek joy, peace, and meaning.

In cultures that glorify sacrifice, choosing self-fulfillment can be seen as rebellion. But maybe the real myth isn’t the ideal life—it’s the belief that we must all settle. The truth is, the ideal life looks different for everyone. It’s not about living flawlessly; it’s about living intentionally, on one’s own terms.

Chasing that life isn’t delusion. It’s courage.❤️

At the heart of it all, women deserve to choose themselves—boldly, unapologetically, and without guilt. Growth begins when they stop shrinking to fit into roles that were never made for them. Choosing yourself isn’t selfish; it’s the first step toward building a life that’s full, intentional, and truly your own.

This journey has been one of healing and self-discovery, and every word I’ve written reflects a piece of that growth. While I usually share lighthearted thoughts, recent blogs have been more personal—filled with honesty and heart. I hope whoever’s reading this remembers that they’re worth far more than what this society expects of them. Never settle for the bare minimum. Set your standards, honor your individuality, and pursue your dreams—unapologetically. Just because others choose a certain path doesn’t mean it’s yours to follow. We each live and dream differently—and that’s exactly how it should be ✨💛

NARS Product review

Hey gals! I hope you all had an amazing summer, I have always wanted to use Nars products but I never got a chance to get it. Previously i’ve used Mac, Estee Lauder, Huda beauty, Fenty and Chanel makeup, so Nars has always been on my bucket list.

Okay so one thing I do and I think everyone else should also do is get a matching concealer along with your foundation shade. I end up buying all the makeup products from that particular line except a few (Laure Mercier setting powder and my makeup setting spray). The only Nars product I had previously used of Nars was their lip balm (a year ago).

Here’s a list of NARS products I got and absolutely love them;

NARS RADIANT LONGWEAR FOUNDATION

This is a lightweight yet a long wear and medium to full (buildable) coverage foundation. Has an amazing finishing and feels so beautifully natural. It’s fragrance free (unlike Huda which is heavily scented) and Oil- Free. I don’t like scented foundations, the scent means more chemical and probable skin damage. I would always suggest go for something which has no artificial scent for your skin or face. This foundation basically has everything amazing yet just feels like your normal skin. It has a huge variety of shades, the lady at Sephora told me to go for the shade Santa Fe(it was a perfect match). You need to know your skin tone and undertones before going in to buy your foundation. This is an all time classic foundation.

NARS RADIANT CREAMY CORRECTOR

No matter how beautiful your skin is, you always need a color corrector. Orange is used to cancel out the dark circles while green color is used to cancel out redness. And trust me when you travel a lot and are immensely jet lagged you are more likely to end up with dark circles! And this magical bottle goes over your primed skin and below your foundation. Thank me later! I have previously used nyx corrector too but that one wasn’t available anywhere this time.

NARS RADIANT CREAMY CONCEALER

This is the concealer you need to get along with your nars foundation. Since my Shade was Santa Fe I ended up going for the shade Custard for my concealer. This isnt full coverage but does the job well with the foundation and the corrector. It’s lightweight yet has a beautiful texture.

NARS BRONZING POWDER

This gives you an amazing sun kissed look. I am a big fan of bronzing powders and how much they enhance your features. Gone are the days when you ended up looking like you had dried cheeks due to heavy blushes. Blush is important but bronzers are very much important too. I am not a fan of creamy bronzers though. I bought the hyped up Anastasia Beverly Hills infamous contour creme palette and it was a complete waste of money. Nars bronzing powder is one of my favourites along with Benefit cosmetics Hoola bronzer and even the NYX Bronzer powder.

NARS BLUSH

NARS blush comes in three finishings;

Sheer

Matte

Shimmer

Personally I love the shimmery effect more because you don’t really need a highlighter after that. And the texture just feels amazing. Would definitely recommend this to everyone. Also a quick tip you can use this over tinted cheeks too. Gives the perfect shade and glow.

After Glow Lip Balm

I personally would go for gloss or lip balms over lipsticks any day. Firstly they’re hydrating and coloured as well. The colors aren’t extra dramatic either, so it can be used by anyone. You can easily use it over a tint again for that extra pop of color.

Lastly, I’d like to add is that it’s very important to have a good skin care routine. No amount of expensive makeup can make your skin feeling good. Your makeup only looks good if you are consistent with your skin care (simple yet effective) and if you’re well hydrated! So take care of yourselves 🩷

Stay tuned for more!✨
